He is a young ambitious Partner, excited about what the region has to offer, he is driven, hands-on, with strong people skills and is very passionate about developing and growing his team.

The Proposition

Our core proposition is supporting our clients to execute on their M&A strategies, both by helping prepare businesses for sale, being a trusted advisor through the entire disposal process, and helping them assess acquisition targets to support growth aspirations. It’s our role to identify the opportunities and risk and help inform what that means for business valuation. To do this effectively, we spend a lot time with our clients to ensure we understand their investment theses and design critical analyses to test those.

Our impact is tangible. There’s nothing like being on a project for months and seeing it grace the front pages of the local newspaper. That’s when you feel the impact of what we do. For some clients, we’re dealing with their life’s work, establishing deals that can make or break them. The pressure is immense, but the rewards are even greater.

The Team

There’s something immensely satisfying about building a business rather than inheriting one, which is exactly what we’re doing in Leeds. Where do you begin when faced with a huge challenge of completely redesigning a team? I knew I needed the support of my future colleagues if we were going to be successful. They not only had to believe in me, but had to believe in the vision for our practice. I spent six months getting to know them before starting the role, illustrating that our business success would translate into long-lasting career opportunities.

We’re paving a new path and you can feel the excitement throughout our team. The team has grown over the last twelve months and we continue to look for great people to join us.

We’re really passionate about our clients and the sectors they work in. Whether you are obsessed with technology or mad about manufacturing it is important to us that, as a member of our team, you feel empowered and enabled to work in the sectors and with the clients that excite you and spark your interest.

A Message From Mark Allcroft

We’re building this team from ground up and whilst we had solid foundation at the start – a bright and enthusiastic team, and of course a great brand – it does feel a bit like working in a start-up; it’s a unique opportunity in a Big Four firm like EY. The job is fast-paced and challenging, and our small team is full of curious, creative people. We’ve seen a lot of success this year and team morale is high. There are plenty of flexible working opportunities and, knowing how demanding our roles can be, we encourage people to do what makes them happy – both personally and professionally.

Our clients all have choice, so we have to differentiate ourselves from our competition. To that end, our TAS and Transaction Analytics teams help us combine traditional services with disruptive technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotic process automation (RPA) and data analytics. These developments don’t only transform the way we work, they change the way our clients work, which affects how we help them thrive. It’s an intellectual challenge, and while the future can be uncertain at times, it’s what excites us here at EY.
