Danielle Jones, Personal Assistant at LDC

Danielle Jones was introduced to Pratap Partnership last year when we supported LDC with a PA role in their Nottingham office. Danielle was successful in securing the Personal Assistant role, supporting 5 Investment Directors at LDC ( Part of Lloyds Banking Group). LDC is the trusted investment partner for ambitious management teams from all corners of the UK and in every sector.

Danielle is a highly experienced PA and has worked in administration for over twenty years. Prior to joining LDC, she spent five years as PA at HSBC.

Following helping Danielle secure her role at LDC, Gemma Hutchinson was delighted to spend some time finding out how Danielle has settled in and about her impressive career to date.

Gemma was delighted to be appointed to recruit the PA for the LDC Nottingham office - one of the most attractive PA roles in the region! It was no surprise to have received so much interest and so many applications; congratulations on being successful! 4 months in now…. How have you settled in?

It is a great team to work with and everyone is so lovely. It’s been a whirlwind with lots to learn (and still lots more to learn) whilst moving at a fast pace but the work is interesting and varied.

Your work history has included working for financial services group HSBC – how has the role at LDC differed from that role?

The role at HSBC was very different. I supported the leadership team as well as the wider team (31 in total) in various tasks and oversaw the running of the office. At LDC I am very much involved in the work a lot more and get involved with the deals, events etc; it feels like you are part of the team rather than just support to the team.

Pratap Partnership has been invited to some impressive events with LDC, how have you found organising such large scale events?

I really enjoy organising the events. There is a lot of work involved from sourcing venues, creating the invites, ensuring that all compliance documentation is approved prior to booking a venue, arranging all the finer details, and then finally settling any payments after the event.  I find the events a great way to network and meet the wider community.

The world of work is so different post-pandemic. What do you see as being the main difference and what is going to happen in the next few years?

To be honest, I feel like the world of work has pretty much gone back to normal in LDC. We only work from home once a week and we always try and be face-to-face at meetings as much as possible. I do think that it has become a lot more acceptable for meetings to take place via Teams which does make life easier when arranging multiple diaries.

I know you are a keen horse rider and gym enthusiast – how do you fit that in with your busy schedule at LDC?

With great difficulty at times but I feel this is important to still fit into my working day for my mental health and well-being. I fit this in by getting up early to either ride or go to the gym before work and on some occasions after work.

I love recruiting for PA / EA roles and know the value they can add to an individual / company – what do you find the most rewarding aspect of being a PA?

There are many areas of the role I find rewarding, but I would say that I love the fact that you are a team; you are there to make their job easier by being pro-active and by doing a good job, it results in them be able to do their role a lot more effectively without even noticing.
